YMCA Awards
Benchmark qualifications for fitness professionals
YMCA Awards offers the UK's most diverse suite of health and fitness qualifications, for people taking their first steps in the industry or established professionals developing their careers'. The qualifications are based upon over 20 years of industry expertise and have been developed with the input of training providers, employers and fitness professionals.
Each qualification is approved through the Government via Ofqual and the Sector Skills Council (SkillsActive). They also sit on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) where appropriate. The Certificate in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training are approved by SQA Accreditation on to the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
What is the difference between QCF, NQF and SQA Accreditation qualifications?
QCF qualifications sit on the Qualifications and Credit Framework or QCF, the new framework for creating and accrediting qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Find out more about the QCF.
SQA Accreditation refers to YMCA Awards qualifications that are approved by Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Accreditation and sit on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
